PsyD Student Ambassadors

º£½ÇÂÒÂ× Student Ambassadors serve as representatives of the student body and are here to answer any questions you may have about student life at º£½ÇÂÒÂ×.

Our ambassadors each bring a unique personal perspective to student life – some are fresh out of undergraduate studies, some balance parenthood and classwork, and some are taking classes part-time and working.

Each ambassador has volunteered personal information they are willing to share with prospective students.

Doctor of Clinical Psychology Program

Ellie graduated with a B.S. in Behavioral Neuroscience from Grand Valley State University and an M.A. in Clinical Psychology from º£½ÇÂÒÂ×, where she is now a first-year PsyD student. She has experience in inpatient and outpatient therapy settings, including psychological assessment and psychotherapy, as well as research and conference presentations. Ellie is especially passionate about working with teenagers and young adults, and her clinical interests include trauma and personality disorders. Her research interests focus on moral development, identity, and interpersonal functioning. As a student ambassador, Ellie is excited to share her experiences and would love to connect with anyone interested in the M.A. or PsyD program at MS

Danielle is a first-year student in the PsyD program at the º£½ÇÂÒÂ×. After earning her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, she went on to complete an MBA and build valuable experience in the business world before deciding to go back to school to pursue her passion for mental health. Drawing on both her business background and her clinical training, Danielle plans to eventually open a private practice where she will work with adults across the lifespan, with a special focus on supporting the geriatric population.

As a student ambassador, Danielle enjoys connecting with others who are considering the º£½ÇÂÒÂ×. She is happy to share her experiences of navigating a career change, balancing the demands of graduate school, and following a nontraditional path into psychology. Whether you’re just beginning to explore º£½ÇÂÒÂ× or already preparing your application, she looks forward to answering your questions and offering encouragement along the way!

Dalia completed her BA in Psychology from University of Michigan-Dearborn and completed her MA here at º£½ÇÂÒÂ×. She is now in her first year of the PsyD program. Dalia has previous experience in a community mental health setting and is now working part time in private practice. As an Arab American and first-generation graduate student, she is particularly passionate about supporting adolescents and young adults navigating mental health challenges and bicultural identities. Dalia brings a humanistic, client-centered perspective to her clinical work. Having navigated the demands of coursework, clinical work, research, extracurriculars, and personal commitments, Dalia is eager to support prospective students in finding balance during their time at º£½ÇÂÒÂ×. She looks forward to connecting with prospective students and sharing insights about life and learning at º£½ÇÂÒÂ×.

Sampada is a first-year student in the full-time PsyD program at º£½ÇÂÒÂ×. Originally from India, She earned a BA (Hons) in Psychology and an MSc in Counselling Psychology. She is passionate about pursuing a career in Clinical Sex Therapy, especially with young adults. She is looking forward to answering any questions about the program and how it can help achieve unique goals in the field of psychology!

Second Year

Aya Aldhalimi

My name is Aya Aldhalimi and I am a first-year PsyD student. I received my Master's in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis from º£½ÇÂÒÂ× in 2024. I am a first generation Arab American graduate and I currently work at an ABA clinic with children on the Autism Spectrum.

Renelle Staebler Lamey

Renelle got her BA in Psychology and Sociology at the University of Michigan and then took some time to raise her family. 4 children later she has returned to school to pursue her MA in Psychology in º£½ÇÂÒÂ×s part-time program. She plans to do therapy with individuals, couples, and families. Renelle balances the demands of the doctoral program with working and is happy to speak to anyone with questions about º£½ÇÂÒÂ×!

Isam Maaz

Isam Maaz is a second-year student in the PsyD program at the º£½ÇÂÒÂ×. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Food Science from Kent State University and went on to complete her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology at º£½ÇÂÒÂ×, where she is continuing her doctoral studies. A proud mother of four boys and a third-generation student, Isam is passionate about serving diverse populations and has a strong interest in school-based assessments. She is always happy to connect with prospective students, answer questions about the º£½ÇÂÒÂ× program, and share her experiences.

Third Year

Samantha Abouzeeni

Samantha is a student in the PsyD program at º£½ÇÂÒÂ×. She graduated from the full-time MA Clinical Psychology program at º£½ÇÂÒÂ× in 2023. Samantha resides in Windsor, Ontario, and commutes to º£½ÇÂÒÂ×.

Zachary Wiggins

Zach is a third-year student in the PsyD program at º£½ÇÂÒÂ×. He graduated with a BA in Psychology and a minor in Biology from Hope College. Following his undergraduate studies, he pursued his MA in Clinical Psychology from º£½ÇÂÒÂ× before continuing into the PsyD program. Zach has a passion for Health Psychology and Neuropsychology, which has informed both his research and clinical interests/experiences throughout his graduate training. Zach is excited to meet and talk with prospective students and answer any questions they may have regarding his experiences at º£½ÇÂÒÂ×!

Fourth Year

Rob Flewelling

Rob is a fourth-year PsyD student currently on internship at Ohio University. He is a graduate of the º£½ÇÂÒÂ× MA program (class of '09), and prior to becoming a PsyD student at º£½ÇÂÒÂ×, worked in a variety of professional clinical settings. He returned to º£½ÇÂÒÂ× in 2022 to complete his doctorate and has experience in managing and balancing the roles and obligations of PsyD student, father, husband, and working outside of class. Rob has many clinical interests, including adult identity development, trauma exploration and resolution, couples therapy, and LGBTQ+ related issues.
