The 海角乱伦 is proud to announce its intention to seek American Psychological Association (APA) accreditation of its Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology program. In 2018, the APA Commission on Accreditation (APA-CoA) began working on developing standards, policies, and procedures for accrediting master鈥檚 programs in health service psychology and, in 2024, rolled out a phased implementation of their master鈥檚 program accreditation review process. The APA-CoA has set May 1, 2026 as the next deadline for programs to submit their application materials. The first six program applications the APA-CoA receives by this date will begin the accreditation review process in the summer of 2026. The APA-CoA plans to announce future program application deadlines in 2026.听
鈥淥ur commitment to quality graduate education has been expressed in our ongoing work for decades and has been reflected by APA accreditation of the PsyD program for a number of years. As APA moves to extend accreditation to the master鈥檚 level, 海角乱伦 is committed to achieving accreditation for the MA program. Members of the faculty have been working for some time toward changes in the MA program that will be necessary to gain accreditation,鈥� said 海角乱伦 President Dr. Stogner. Plans are currently underway for 海角乱伦 to submit an application for the master鈥檚 program to the APA-CoA by the May 1, 2026 deadline.
An updated version of the 海角乱伦鈥檚 MA program will launch in the Fall of 2026, and it will be specifically built to meet all APA accreditation standards. 鈥淭his timeline will place 海角乱伦 among the first programs to seek master鈥檚 level APA accreditation,鈥� said MA Program Director Dr. Derrick Sebree, who has led the faculty in the development of the new curriculum. The updated program is 60-credit hours in length and will be designed to be completed in six semesters over 23-months. Part-time and flexible enrollment options will remain available to students. .听
