At the end of 2020, 海角乱伦 launched a Compassion Fund for the Michigan School Psychological Clinic. Today, we are delighted to provide an update on our fundraising efforts to date.
The Clinic Compassion Fund was created to support our mission to make therapy available to everyone. And we really do mean everyone. No one is turned away from the 海角乱伦 Clinic for an inability to pay.听Our clinic offers affordable mental health services to individuals and families in our community and is an excellent choice for those who are uninsured, or who are faced with unaffordable insurance deductibles and co-pays.
Toward the end of last year, we were inspired to ask ourselves the questions – what does affordable mean? How will we provide therapy to everyone – even those individuals and families for whom $5 per week is out of reach?聽
We launched the Compassion Fund on November 16, 2020 in time for Giving Tuesday 2020, the global day of charitable giving.听 In addition, the Psi Chi Chapter at 海角乱伦 held a friendly fundraising competition between the students, faculty, and staff.
The Psi Chi fundraiser generated a total of $1,420 from the 鈥渙n campus鈥� 海角乱伦 Community. The faculty raised an incredible $880 and were the clear winner of the contest.听In total, since launching in November 2020, we have received $2,505!
All donations to the fund will support the Clinic, no matter how much or little our clients can pay. And every little bit really does count. A $20 donation can provide up to four therapy sessions.
The Clinic is currently offering teletherapy mental health services provided by our own MA and PsyD students under the supervision of Clinic staff. Early Intensive Behavioral Intervention (EIBI) and psychological testing will be held in-person, utilizing safe and socially distanced spacing.
