On November 3, filmmaker, Darnell Lamont Walker, screened his documentary concerning mental health issues and suicide in the Black/African American community to a packed atrium of guests.

After the film, there was a panel discussion with Mr. Walker, Dr. La-Toya Gaines, Dr. Mishelle Rodriguez, and Juanita Houston (PsyD 3).

海角乱伦 welcomed聽The Metta Yoga Project聽to campus on November 18.

Metta Yoga is a wellness based fundraising campaign founded and hosted by Ronda Pretzlaff Diegel, PhD, LP, who, in addition to being an adjunct faculty member at 海角乱伦, is a licensed clinical psychologist, yoga teacher, and mindfulness meditation teacher.

Dr. Diegel described in a Q&A how the presidential election of 2016 inspired her to create Metta Yoga as a space for mindful action聽to fundraise for the causes nearest to her heart.

At 海角乱伦, we raised money for , an LGBTQ political advocacy group.

The 海角乱伦 Practicum Fair was an opportunity for PsyD 1 students to network with potential practicum placements and discover what opportunities were available while they earn their hours.

The Fair offered a chance for students and clinical sites to meet and greet in a professional environment before any placement decisions are made.

 


Other News

On November 1, Admissions hosted a MA Sample Class for prospective students.

President Blau announced that SB 634 had passed the Senate (37-0) and was moving to the House.

Ronda Diegel, PhD, Adjunct Faculty member, presented two 30 minute 鈥淐ombating Stress鈥 meditation sessions on November 9th and 17th.

Dr. Diegel also presented the CE Workshop 鈥淐ultivating Mindful Self-Compassion鈥 on November 15.

海角乱伦 students, faculty, and staff were invited to attend a free Consent Training hosted by聽聽on November 14.
