It’s time for our annual Year in Review! As we look back on each month of the academic year, the º£½ÇÂÒÂ× community can reflect on the changes and growth we have experienced since September, both individually and as a community. Here’s a look at highlights from October 2024.

We attended the Out of Darkness Walk For Suicide Prevention on October 19th. 

On October 19th, we also joined the City Institute for their “Detroit’s Black History By the People That Lived It” walking tour.

We welcomed presenters from Centro Multicultural La Familia came to campus on October 22nd to present on mental health in Latino/x/e communities. 

MENAPC hosted a workshop with Jenna Hage-Hassan on how to communicate with elected officials on October 31st. 

Other Highlights from October:

Our writing specialist Andrew Kaleita, User Services Librarian Stephanie Swanberg, and Director of Student Services Carrie Pyeatt hosted additional panels to share their tips and tricks for succeeding in Grad School. 

We kicked off our first semester book club, where we read Micro Activism: How You Can Make a Difference in the World (Without a Bullhorn) by Omkari Williams. 

The º£½ÇÂÒÂ× Publication Interest Group kicked off the year with a presentation on the many avenues to publication on October 1st. 

Psi Chi hosted their annual Paper to Proposal Workshop on October 16th. 

Director of IT & Campus Security Jeff Cross and the Farmington Hills Police Department held an active assailant training on October 18th. 

We had pumpkin painting in the atrium from October 21st to 25th.Â
