Lee Bach, PhDÌý(Core Faculty) presented “An Experiential Approach to Teaching Key Concepts and Methods in Qualitative Research”Ìýon December 13, 2017 at theÌýQualitative Pluralism Conference at Middlesex University in London.Ìý

Fran Brown, PsyDÌý(Program Director) presented “A Qualitative Heuristic Study: The Parentified Psychotherapist’s Experience of the Psychotherapeutic Process” on December 13, 2017 at theÌýQualitative Pluralism Conference at Middlesex University in London.Ìý Dr. Brown’s poster won an award for excellence.

Shannon Chávez-Korell, PsyDÌý(Core Faculty)Ìýpresented a poster entitled “Resilience, Perceived Stigma, Social Support, and Self-Esteem in Transgender and Gender Non-Conforming Youth” with her co-authors (Weinhardt, L. J.) on November 6, 2017, at the American Public Health Association’s Annual Meeting & Expo in Atlanta, GA.

In August 2017, Dr.ÌýChávez-Korrell presented two posters at the 125th Annual Convention of the American Psychological Association (APA) in Washington, D.C.Ìý First, with co-authorsÌýNewell, M., Cochran, K. M., Pierson, H. C., Watjen, J., Salas, S., Muro, N., & Callahan, K., she presented “Examining school related stress, mental health, coping, and self-efficacy among high school students.”Ìý With co-authorsÌýNewell, M., Muro, N., Zwolski, S., Tindall, C., Pierson, H. C., Watjen, J., Salas, S., Ipekci, B., Mascari, L., Navarro, O., Brumm-Larson, J., Truscott, N. L., & Jennings, I., she also presented “Breaking the relationship between poverty and associated risks: Role of coping and social support.”

Jessie Dluzynski, PsyD (Instructional Assistant) received aÌýNational Psychologist Trainee Register Credentialing Scholarship presented byÌý.Ìý On November 8,Ìý2007 she presented “Animal-Assisted Interventions” to a class at Oakland Community College.Ìý And, Dr. DluzynskiÌýpresented a poster entitled “Information Processing and Attention” at the 3rd Annual Psi Chi Research Symposium on June 16, 2017.

Adam DubersteinÌý(PsyD 2) attended the APA Annual Conference in August 2017.Ìý He presented “Activating Psychologists: Advocacy in Science, Education and Practice” on August 3 with co-presentersÌýPatrick J. DeLeon, Joanna Sells, Sarah R. B. Milam, and Laura Dryjanska.Ìý Adam also presented a poster entitled “Moving Toward Social Justice: Insights for Research, Policy and Practice.”

Dustin Shepler, PhDÌý(Core Faculty), Kevin Johnson (PsyD 4), and Alicia Width (PsyD 3) publishedÌýÌýin the Walden UniversityÌýÌýin August 2017.Ìý

Dr. Shepler also co-authored Ìýin the published by APA Division 44 with Jared Smendik (PsyD 2), Kate Cusick (PsyD 3), and David Tucker (PsyD 4).
