Job Description
The Graduate Assistant supports the Office of Admissions and Student Engagement in order to provide high quality, service-oriented student engagement programming. Reporting directly to the Coordinator of Admissions and Student Engagement, the graduate assistant assists in developing and planning student engagement programs at º£½ÇÂÒÂ×, implementing events for current students, assisting with admissions tasks and acts as a positive representative of º£½ÇÂÒÂ× with school and community outreach initiatives.
Position Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and implementation of educational and community building events hosted by the Office of Admissions and Student Engagement
- Assist with career services expansion to include planning for career week, communication with potential employers and speakers and execution of career fair
- Attend educational/community building events, open houses, and/or graduate fairs as needed
- Research best practices and make recommendations for new opportunities for º£½ÇÂÒÂ× students
- Provide support with admissions processing, including interview preparation, applicant evaluations, data management, etc.
- Assist with group admissions interviews, if needed
- Assist in researching and implementing admissions best practices
Position Qualifications
An individual applying for the position must meet the following qualifications:
- Incoming or current PsyD student in good academic standing
- Available to work 10 hours per week
- Work with a high level of discretion and confidentiality to maintain professional/student boundaries
- Strong writing, research, technical and organization/administrative skills
- Strong interpersonal skills to include written and verbal communication
- Ability to network with other professionals and students
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Self-directed and autonomous, strong work ethic
- Reliable and flexible
