Meet Our Student Clinicians

The following º£½ÇÂÒÂ× students are completing their clinical training hours at the Michigan School Psychological Clinic this academic year. Due to the nature of clinical training, the student clinicians’ tenure at the clinic is limited to one academic year (August-July).

Under the supervision of Clinic Staff, each student will provide direct psychological services to clients in need of mental health care at a reasonable cost.

My technique as a student clinician at º£½ÇÂÒÂ× is cultivated through an Existential-Humanistic lens. I center my treatment around trauma, individual development, interpersonal relationships, and behavior while prioritizing creating a safe and empathetic space for clients to explore their inner world. I believe individuals possess the innate capacity for growth and self-actualization; therefore, I guide my clients on a journey of self-discovery and healing. Through a client-centered approach, I encourage them to delve into past traumas, childhood experiences, and complex emotions, fostering self-awareness and empowerment. Together, we work towards emotional resilience, self-acceptance, and a deeper understanding of their unique life journey.

I believe therapy is both a place of exploration and restoration. My role as your therapist is to walk alongside you, helping you make sense of the patterns in your life and supporting you as you reclaim the parts of yourself that may feel hidden, silenced, or overshadowed. I approach this work with curiosity and empathy, creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can feel seen and understood. Therapy can feel daunting, especially when answers aren’t immediate or progress is slow. My commitment is to honor your pace of growth and discovery. My hope is that our work together will help you build insight, strengthen your capacity to navigate life’s challenges, and reconnect with your ability to grow and thrive.

My clinical style primarily stems from Humanistic Psychology with a focus on creating a safe and nonjudgemental therapeutic alliance. My first goal is to build trust and rapport with the client because without it, therapy cannot proceed effectively. After rapport has been established, I will collaborate with the client to create a treatment plan that best addresses their symptoms. The collaboration process is crucial in creating personalized interventions that are best suited for the individual. I encourage input from the client.

Creating a safe, nonjudgmental space is my highest priority. I want clients to feel seen, heard, and accepted for who they are. I believe meaningful progress begins with a strong therapeutic alliance, and I view therapy as a collaborative partnership where we explore experiences, challenges, and strengths in a supportive environment. My background includes working with neurodivergent children through Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), which deepened my understanding of how behavior is shaped by internal and external factors. I integrate this knowledge with a humanistic, culturally responsive approach that honors each client’s unique background and identity. I am committed to supporting clients in reaching their goals and realizing their potential—on their terms, and at their pace.
