Dr. Jim Maher, Clinic Director, and Holly Tocco, Director of Clinic Operations and Outreach, shared highlights from the Michigan School Psychological Clinic’s 2025-2026 academic year.
The Michigan School Psychological Clinic has once again completed a successful year serving as a training site for students and providing valuable services across the state.Â
This year, the clinic focused on increased community engagement, which began with Holly Tocco stepping into the new role of Director of Clinic Operations and Outreach at the start of the year. Under Holly’s guidance, clinic students provided resources and presented to a variety of audiences at:
- Birmingham Girl Scouts
- Canton Public Library
- Costick Center
- East Middle School
- Eastern Market
- Farmington Hills High School
- Kronk Boxing Gym
- OCC Royal Oak
- OCC Auburn Hills
- OCC Orchard Ride
- Rochester Public Library
- Pontiac Public Library
- Warner Middle School
Other clinic highlights for the year included:
- Significant expansion of the Clinic’s outreach efforts to schools, libraries, and local organizations
- Serving over 100 psychotherapy clients.
- Continued client satisfaction with their care as the greatest percentage of referrals continues to come from current clients.
- Student Clinicians’ continued satisfaction with the quality of their training experience as 94% of those students gave the Clinic the highest rating in overall satisfaction.
- Initial year of use of a grant from the Southern Smoke Foundation, in which thirteen clients have received up to twenty therapy sessions for free.Â
Moving forward, the Clinic is also expanding in two exciting ways. They are pursuing APPIC membership as an internship site starting in the 2027-2028 academic year and are planning to develop our Clinic space to accommodate five therapy rooms.
